Hey guys! I hope you had a nice week. As you know, I am still on vacation. Today I want to share some impressions from the second part of my trip to Indonesia with you. You can find the first part here, which covered our stays in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and on Java. As you can guess from the picture above, today’s post is all about beaches and island life!

Was so happy when we arrived in Lombok. All the time before (in Singapore and on Java) we were so close to the sea but never really saw it. I love to be by the water and so my heart made a little jump when I saw the pretty coast of Lombok for the first time 🙂

Villen).

Arrived at our first home on Lombok, the Hotel Tugu. Seriously one of the prettiest hotels I’ve ever been to. That’s why I will definitely share some more impressions from that in a separate post. The title picture of this post was also taken in the Hotel Tugu, at its private beach, which was the perfect place to relax!

Not only the place itself but also its breakfast was insane. We enjoyed our tropical breakfast at Hotel Tugu everyday at the beach. How pretty is everything decorated? I still dream of the banana-strawberry milkshakes we had there.

From Lombok we went with a boat to the Gili Islands. We spend a few days at Gili Meno, which you can see above. It is also called the honeymoon island because it is so quite and idyllic. The water was so turquoise that it was even bright and shiny although the weather was cloudy.

On Gili Meno we spent the first few days at the Karma Reef Resort and had a nice beach bungalow with sea view. Loved the island feeling and atmosphere of that Resort.

In front of our Bungalow we had hammocks which were the perfect place to chill and enjoy the ocean. Btw. how pretty is this Stine Goya kimono? Love how the peachy colour complements the blue sea (and my tanned skin 😉 ).

We spent our last night on Gili Meno in the Seri Resort, which is located in a very quite part of the island which is also the best snorkeling spot. The reef starts two steps from the beach and you can not only see colourful fishes but also super cute turtles.

After enjoying Gili Meno a lot, we decided to check out Gili Air as well. There are three Gili Islands: Meno, Air and Trawangan. Trawangan is the biggest island and known to be a party island, Meno is kind of the opposite and Air somewhat inbetween. On Gili Air we stayed at the Sunrise Resort which had a lovely pool and lagoon area.

After our island experiences, we decided to go back to Lombok for five more days and explore the island a bit more. First stop were these amazing waterfalls which are located in the area of the Rinjani, the second highest volcano of Indonesia. It is easy to get there with a guide and the waterfalls are just amazing. Seriously, no picture can transport how impressing this act of nature really is.

After some waterfall adventure, we settled down in Kuta Beach for the rest of our trip, which is also known to be a good spot for surfing. Never did it so far, but maybe will try it during the next days.

#travelootd – in my hands a fresh guava juice. This day we went to a morning market to buy some spices that we will bring back to Germany. We did a Indonesian cooking class when we were in Java and I can’t wait to recreate the dishes I learnt at home.
